Belle Ryan Elementary

BIO: Inspired by her mother, also a special education teacher, Katy Camenzind has wanted to teach since she was a young girl. In fact, she has never considered another career. Katy teaches 12 students between the ages of 5 and 8 years old in her MH primary classroom at Belle Ryan Elementary. Although Katy has just finished her second year of teaching, her peers have already praised her for bringing her students to the next level of their reading and speaking abilities. Katy completed her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a special education endorsement in mild/moderate disabilities from UNO, and will begin taking classes for her master’s this summer.

FAMILY: Katy has been married to Jim for a year and a half and they share their home with their two dogs, Diesel and Tucker.

HOBBIES: Katy enjoys spending her free time with family and taking her dogs to the park.
